3 Best Keto Snacks at Target

Sharing is caring!

Today I’m at Target and I’m going to show you three of the best keto snacks that you can find here at Target. I’ll also show you one really popular item in the keto community that I recommend that you avoid.

#1 Keto Snack: Fage Yogurt (5% milk fat)

Best Keto Snack at Target is Fage Yogurt

The first item here is the Fage yogurt. It’s 5% is what I recommend. It’s gonna fill you up, it’s got 160 calories, we look at carbohydrates, it’s got five grams. I do recommend that you get the unflavored because a lot of the flavors are going to have added sugar in them. Just so you’re aware they also sell a 2% like this. This one’s not bad. The one that I probably wouldn’t do is there’s zero percent there’s not gonna be enough fat in there in order to fill you up and there’s gonna be more sugar. If I’m looking at the best keto snacks at Target, I would say the 5% I definitely recommend that.

#2 Keto Snack: Trident Vibes Gum

Best Keto Snack at Target number two is Trident Vibes gum

The second item, I really like as a keto snack here at Target is actually gum. Gum isn’t something you normally think of as a snack. I use this all the time, when I think I want to eat but really, I’m just bored rather than hungry. This will hold me over for a couple of hours. I use gum quite a bit in order to do that.

I buy actually the little pods like this. The reason for that is because the primary sweetener here is xylitol, which is very keto friendly, but it’s a little confusing, though, because if you’re probably used to seeing packets like this, where it’s actually a stick of gum. The problem with a lot of these is they use maltitol and sorbitol, and those are sweeteners that are actually going to cause an insulin response, which means that they can actually kick you out of ketosis if you have enough.

If we look at this pack of gum, it’s only five color calories. Probably not going to cause a problem, but just something that you really don’t need. I would avoid, if you can, and that’s why I recommend these pods. They use again, that xylitol instead so you’re not going to have any issues and these work really well.

#3 Keto Snack: Almonds (unseasoned)

Best Keto Snack at Target number 3 is Almonds

Another one of the best keto snacks at Target that I recommend is almonds. There’s a reason why I have this little bag, is because again, it comes down to portion control makes it so much easier. These are normally up by the front counter, what we find back here is a big bag like this. The only problem with this is that with this big bag, it leads to having too much, you’re not having a single portion. So this bag has 12 servings in it, it’s tough to kind of measure that out and put the energy and effort into doing that. I recommend getting the smaller bag instead.

One thing to be aware of, it does have like canola oil and some saffron oil and sunflower oil and these which isn’t great, but these do still make a really good keto snack. What I recommend though, is that you get the smaller ones like this. That way it’s easy to put in your backpack or your purse, and you don’t have to worry about the portion control.

#4 Keto Snack: GT’s Kombucha

Best Keto item at Target number four is GT's Kombucha

Another keto snack that I recommend at Target is actually GT’s kombucha. A lot of other kombuchas have extra added sugar in them. This one bottle has 12 grams of sugar which sounds like a lot but this is a 20 ounce bottle, I drink about half of this. So really, that’s about six grams of sugar. It’s really a good break from drinking water, which is what I normally drink throughout the day. In addition, GT’s is an which is really good for gut health so I really like that. They’ve got a bunch of different flavors, my favorite is the Trilogy, but they’ve got a bunch of others that are really good as well.

Keto Snack to Avoid: Target Brand Beef Jerky

Here I’m going to show you something that you do have to be careful for. So this sounds really good, it’s organic, it’s grass fed, it has all the right words on it. However, the one thing that I would know is that this actually has five grams of sugar per serving. This bags almost three servings, so two and a half servings, for beef jerky, that just isn’t necessary so you got to make sure that you read the labels on the back in addition to looking what’s on front. These would be really great if they didn’t have the sugar added, but unfortunately, they do.

My Favorite Beef Sticks: Sogo beef sticks

Keto Snack to Avoid: Halo Top Ice Cream

Now I’m going to show you one popular item in the keto community that I don’t recommend here in Target.  That’s this Halo Top ice cream. And I know it’s very popular. The reason I recommended it is if you look at this container, it’s not very big. This is actually supposed to be four servings in that four servings or 17, total carbohydrates, three from fiber, seven sugar and five sugar alcohol. I’ve eaten these, or they taste really good. My problem is that I eat this an entire sitting because I portion control can be very challenging. So if you’re trying to lose weight on keto, and the keto lifestyle, I would say this would be one item that I would try to avoid, because it’s so easy to eat this entire container so I’m going to put this one back.

My Favorite Keto Treat: ChocZero’s keto-friendly milk chocolate squares.
