Keto Fat Bomb Recipe: Chocolate Perfection

Sharing is caring!

This keto fat bomb recipe is one of my favorite desserts these days! It’s extremely rich and creamy, with no whipping, beating, or avocados required.

It takes a bunch of experimenting to get the right balance, but once you found the sweet spot, the recipe becomes a family favorite. The recipe is easy, with only 5 simple ingredients and takes less than ten minutes to make.

The best part about this keto fat bomb recipe is that it’s low in carbs and high healthy fat to keep you energized after a workout or as a keto friendly after-dinner dessert.

What Are Keto Fat Bombs?

Keto Fat bombs are delicious snacks and desserts with a high amount of healthy fats with a low number of carbs. They’re a great way of treating yourself while living the keto lifestyle.

You probably have noticed keto fat bomb recipes trending on social media and here’s why.

Keto Fat Bombs are a delicious and easy to make. They’re easy to customize and don’t usually require any actual baking. Also, they’re great at helping you feel full and focused throughout the day.

These fat bombs generally contain only keto friendly sweeteners, healthy fats, and a small amount of protein and carbs. Adding keto fat bombs is a easy way to hit your macros without going over your carb limit.

Ingredients

Here’s what you will need to make this delicious keto fat bomb recipe.

  • ½ cup almond butter
  • ¼ cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup of coconut oil
  • 3 Tablespoons Swerve (or other keto-friendly sweeteners)
  • ⅛  teaspoon salt

Directions

#1: Combine all ingredients in a medium-size mixing bowl

#2: Mix for 2 to 3 minutes until smooth. If the texture is dry add more coconut oil.

#3: Pour into mold: you can use silicon mini-cupcake tin, candy molds, ice cube trays, or other molds.

#4 Freeze for 4 hours to set. Freezing is essential because coconut oil softens when warm, so for best results, store these in the freezer. After all, tasty things come to those who wait.

#5 Add toppings as desired, and enjoy!

Below is a Pinterest friendly photo…so you can pin it to your keto board!

Tips for this Keto Fat Bomb Recipe

First, warm up the almond butter so it mixes better otherwise, you will get clumps throughout the mixture. If this happens, it changes the taste of the fat bombs.

Second, use a teaspoon to perfectly level your fat bombs when you are spooning the mixture into the tray.  This much easier to level out at room temperature as compared to when it’s frozen 🙂

How to Store Keto Fat Bombs?

Freeze them for up to 4 hours to let them set. Once your keto fat bombs have set you can store them in the refrigerator for up to a week.

They also make a great frozen treat that you can leave in the freezer for up to a month.

Are Keto Fat Bombs Healthy?

These treats are high in healthy fat and low in carbs. They help you feel full and satisfied quickly, unlike cookies, snacks, or candies where you could eat often and never really feel full.

Keto fat bombs are great for when you need a little boost or when you need a nice treat that won’t negatively impact your health. However, like all treats they shouldn’t your primary source of food for the day. Most of your macros should be coming from whole healthy foods.

The Best Keto Friendly Sweeteners

Cutting out sugar can seem overwhelming for if you have a big sweet tooth and are used to having something sweet every day. Luckily, there are a number of great keto friendly sweeteners on the market today.

Here were’ going to show you some of the best for keto.

#1: My favorite keto friendly sweetener is Swerve because it bakes and measures like traditional sugar. It’s primarily made from erythritol which is a keto friendly sweetener that doesn’t raise insulin levels and has zero calories.

#2 Stevia: this is a natural and keto-friendly  plant-based sweetener. Stevia has a number of great nutritional qualities, but some people find it can have a bitter or metallic aftertaste. Also, do not use in with chocolate because it can amplify the bitter taste in stevia.

Additionally, be aware there a number of stevia-based products that are not keto friendly. For example, Stevia in the Raw is blended with Maltodextrin. Maltodextrin is a highly processed sugar commonly found in candy that spike glucose levels, drop blood pressure, and can kick you out of ketosis.

#3 Xylitol: while this sweetener is keto friendly, it can cause upset stomach and other digestive issues. Another downside of  Xylitol is that it is toxic to cats, dogs, and other pets.

The Ketogenic Diet (Keto for short) is revolutionizing our understanding of food and health. The basic concept of the keto lifestyle is simple; swap your carbs for healthy fats and your body will adapt to burn fat instead of carbs fuel.

I used the keto lifestyle to lose over 40lbs, beat a family history of Type 2 diabetes, and keep the weight off for over 4 years!
