What to Put on Keto Pancakes

Ok, now you have a very important decision to make! What to put on your keto pancakes.

#1: Of course, regular syrup and even maple syrup are out because they have way too much sugar for keto. If you want to a keto friendly alternative to the traditional syrup experience on your pancakes, Lankanto is the best keto friendly syrup on the market right now.

#2: Another great option is keto friendly fresh fruit. I love adding blueberries to my keto pancakes. Strawberries are also another great options.

#3: Whether you go with a keto friendly syrup or keto friendly fruit, whip cream is always a family favorite in our house.

Keto Pancakes and Carbs

Our keto pancake recipe has 5 total carbs and 2 net carbs per servings based on our calculations. We do our best to be accurate but feel free to do your own calculations.

Be careful. Some people get tripped up with carbs on keto pancakes by the toppings. Adding a ton of whip cream or even too much keto friendly fruit may increase the carbs more than you think.

Also, even keto friendly syrups can have a significant amount of total carbs with a much lower amount of net carbs. If you are carb sensitive these products may not be a good fit for you and your personal goals.

Almond Flour vs Almond Meal

To make your keto pancakes light and fluffy you want to make sure your using finely ground almond flour and NOT almond meal.

Almond flour is made from blanched almonds and ground into a very fine powder to give your keto pancakes a soft texture.

On the other hand, almond meal has dark brown flakes and will make your keto pancakes taste gritty. It’s great to have grit in life, but not for breakfast!

I use Trader Joe’s almond flour because it’s a very affordable and only has 2 net carbs be ¼ cup.  For more, check out the 5 best keto items at Trader Joe’s.

Can You Freeze Keto pancakes?

Yes! You can make keto pancakes and freeze them for up a month. They also last for about a week in the refrigerator.

They’re very easy to reheat in the microwave for about 20 seconds or on the griddle for about a minute.

What Is Keto?

If you’re new to keto, you’ve gotten this far and might be asking what the bacon is keto really!?

The Ketogenic Diet (Keto for short) is revolutionizing our understanding of food and health. The basic concept of the keto lifestyle is simple; swap your carbs for healthy fats and your body will adapt to burn fat instead of carbs fuel.

I used the keto lifestyle to lose over 40lbs, beat a family history of Type 2 diabetes, and keep the weight off for over 4 years!

If you’re new to keto, you probably have lots of questions. I created a comprehensive beginner’s guide to keto to help you avoid the many common mistakes people make when you start keto.
